This three-day workshop provides hands-on instruction in designing and building with rammed earth. Participants will work through the major stages of rammed earth construction, including soil selection and testing, forming walls and corners, mixing and tamping material, installing electrical and plumbing components, and stripping forms.

Topics include soil selection and testing, modular formwork, embedded insulation, electrical boxes and conduit, scaffolding, reinforced and post-tensioned rammed earth, stabilized and water-resistant specifications, ASTM test cylinders, soil mixing and tamping, form stripping, headers, bond beams, roof attachments, and proper tamper maintenance.
