About This Event
This eight-day hands-on workshop focuses on constructing a 12-foot earthen dome using SuperAdobe techniques. Participants work through the building process from foundation to completion of the structural shell while learning the design, materials, and construction principles behind earthen dome building. The workshop focuses on the bagging and structural portion of the dome; plaster finishes are not included.
What You’ll Learn
Topics include introductory design, compass use, foundations, SuperAdobe design principles, hands-on SuperAdobe construction, height-compass navigation, door and window forms, material mixing, soil testing, material sourcing, arches, and drafting and design.
